It’s a cycle

I feel like every person that I meet
is for a reason
They teach me something I missed learning from someone who’s no longer a part of me
they put me in their shoes
make me realise how they might have felt
whether they ended up hurting me or I

So I don’t hold grudges
I rarely do
but regrets, yes.
sooner or later we make peace with each other
until there’s a new lesson awaiting
to punch me in the face
all over again
